International Ballet Competition SLAVENSKA 2021

The International Ballet Competition Slavenska 2021 is planned to take place between July 1 and 3, 2021 at the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb LIVE.

Participants of the Competition will have to bring a negative PCR test or present a certificate of vaccination or confirmation that they already recoverd from the Corona virus disease.

The Croatian Society of Professional Ballet Artists founded the biennial Ballet Competition Slavenska named after the world-famous Croatian ballerina Mia Čorak Slavenska in 2006, when it was open only to Croatian ballet dancers, but due to an increased interest in 2010 the Competition turned international and since then has welcomed many dancers from all over the world. The Jury president was the renowned Irek Mukhamedov accompanied by numerous prominent dancers: Ljubinka Dobrijević, Pavel Rotaru, Farouk Ruzimatov and many more.

Many dancers who have won prizes at our competition also won prizes at other very respectable competitions such as the Nureyev competition in Budapest, Moscow Competition and have been engaged in large ballet companies around the world.

Galina Garmsh, Yuya Omaki, Asami Nakashima, Dmitri Timofeyev, Mai Kageyama, Yuka Ebikhara, Dmitry Vyskubenko, Marijana Domins, NIna Noč, Natalia Horsnell, Guilherme Gameiro Alves, Kiril Safin, Yassaui Mergaliyev, Nicolas Gorodiski, Lisa Breuker Pavlov, Shunsuke Mizui, Iva Vitić Gameiro, Miguel Aranda Maidana, Yuyu Ichikawa and many more.

The Jury will be led by Emmanuel Thibault, former principal of the Paris Opera, Simona Noja, former principal of the Vienna Ballet, Pal Csillag, professor at the Hungarian Dance Academy in Budapest and our renowned Ronald Savković.
